Homecoming!!!

What an amazing weekend it was! I woke up Saturday morning about 8:00am to be over at Tullio Field parking lot to give tours to parents and alumni! I met a lot of really nice families and saw so many of my alumni friends that came back to celebrate the weekend with everyone once again! Myself and other Ambassadors got to babysit one of our sport coaches daughter for a little bit, Sydney! She was adorable and loved Priscilla the most.
Hurstfest was so much fun! Even though the weather was cloudy and somewhat rainy we always make the best of it at the hurst! There were prizes, games, contests, food and so many other activities. Definitely a good time that no one can turn down! Even though I didn't get to catch any of the fun on my camera, check out other student blogs to see what their weekend was like!
On Sunday my parents and my two younger sisters came to pick me up and take me out to lunch and visit with them. I only see my family about once a month, but it's always enjoyable and I love every second. We ate at TGI Fridays, one of my favorite restaurants. If anyone would like to know what I ate, it was a Jack Daniel's Burger and yes, it was delicious!
My highlight of the day was after lunch because for months my computer has been slowly decreasing and we went to Best Buy to look at laptops. I've had my eye on an HP for quite some time, but as my parents always do, they pulled through and surprised me with a brand new Macbook computer! I am so thankful for my parents and I really don't know what I'd do without them.
Here are 2 of my first pictures I took on photo booth! I'm having so much fun on it! You'll definitely be seeing more of my silliness come out in my blogs.
By the way, anyone interested in research will be happy to know that there is a new Social Psychology Research Group that's just been developed! Dr. Surawski is taking on student's anyone interested in research. I'm sure it will be continuing in the years to come, so please look into it if you're a student looking for psychology research at Mercyhurst! It's a great way to gain experience and add to your resume!

That's all I have for now! Thanks for tuning in!

Just an update!

Today is the first day of fall?!? As you will come to find out, I hate the snow and I hate the cold, long winter, but fall to me sets the atmosphere of the fall term.
Well, today was my first Abnormal Psychology exam. I'm hoping for at least a B! (fingers crossed). When your in college, there is no such thing as slacking off. It's sad to say, but if you want something you have to go out there and get it just like I'm doing and trying to get the best grade I can on my test. I studied for hours all week and I feel pretty confident in myself.
After my 9:30 exam I waited for my Personality class to start and went to Biopsychology after, which is my last class of the day. :-D It's a very interesting class, I recommend it to all psychology majors!
After my classes were over, I went with my roommate to update the communications board for the Ambassador Club, went to lunch at the Laker and I did some homework in the Student Union Great Room while waiting for my Leadership Executive Board  meeting to start. We are in the midst of planning a lot of fun things for the members of LCP!
It's now about 5:30 and I need to get some homework done and eat some dinner. Not a very busy day for me, but many more are sure to come!
Carpe Diem!

Hello Everyone!

Hi everyone! My name is Marleah and I'm a new blogger for the student bloggers website! I'm going to tell you a little about myself and why I came to Erie, Pennsylvania to become a Mercyhurst College Laker.

Well for starters, I'm a junior Psychology major and I'm from a little town just about 40 minutes west of here in Ohio called Ashtabula. In high school I always knew that I belonged in a huge state school and that school for me was THE Ohio State University, but little did I know that after visiting I felt like a small fish in a huge lake. And I knew that it wasn't for me. I found Mercyhurst after looking for schools with Forensic Science programs and we have an awesome one here. So after contemplating where in the world I will be carrying on my education I picked Mercyhurst  because of wonderful people that were already here, the great community and of course the forensics program.

My freshman year was amazing and Mercyhurst had kept it's word on how awesome everything would be. But sometimes you find out that a major just may not fit you or you find out that it isn't the path you thought you wanted to take in life. And this is when I found the world of Psychology and I knew it was my calling. I'm now fulfilling my dream and as this blog continues, I'll be letting you know what the Psychology program is like for anyone interested in pursuing a career in this field.

So, I hope you all will continue to read my blog as the year goes on and you'll be able to get a taste of what a Mercyhurst College student's life is like!

P.S. This weekend is Homecoming Weekend for us, so expect an update next week!
